Dye-based inks are quick drying, general-purpose ink pads that dye the fibres of the surface. This makes them ideal for use on most paper and card. It is best not to use these with glossy or coated card stock, as the dye cannot be absorbed by the surface. Likewise, mulberry paper is not suitable as the ink is too easily absorbed, meaning the ink is likely to bleed.
